Teknologia: Setting

Teknologia lies northwest of Crystallus. Home to the alien species known as humans, this once flat land has become riddled with skyscrapers and holographic TV screens. Everywhere you look, you can see some sort of advertisement inviting you to try new things or reminding you to buy some product. The city lights act as beautiful multi colored stars, but for those of us that prefer the real thing, you may be disappointed to find that light pollution is far to great to see the great beyond. Fortunately, that is the only kind of pollution you will find here. Advanced filtration and recycling systems leave the air feeling as fresh as any untouched wild land.

The majority of the general population is completely content with living their lives under the current system. The ruling class handles the responsibilities of governance and live extravagant lifestyles with no fear of growing old due to advanced medicine. For the other 99.99% of the population, the vast majority are happy living out normal lifespans free from hunger, thirst, loneliness, boredom, and major responsibilities. The choice to work or not is irrelevant as all jobs at this point are easily replaceable by technology, but work does still exist for those that need the illusion of responsibility; work is often times entertainment focused. But, all is not well. Undermining the society is a group of citizens that refuse to ignore the impossible barrier to entry into the ruling class. These aggravated souls long for more responsibility, a limitless lifespan, luxurious lifestyles, admiration, or any combination of these things.



Teknologia has fairly moderate weather patterns with the occasional stormy weather, but they do not fear the weather. Instead, they harness the winds, rainfall, and even occasional lightning strikes, converting these forces into renewable energy. As far as the climate in general, life is noticeably colder in the north, but not quite freezing. Northerners are happy to walk around in coats, most of them being fashionable lab coats. The temperatures heat up as you move southward, with the southern most reaches experiencing something of an eternal summer.
